My worst fears have become true. I have joined a health club, or a gerbil centre as i liked to call them in the good old days.
It was about time. I’m in really poor health. I’m always out of breath when i run up the stairs. I can’t run 50 meters, even if it would save my life.
So i walk that treadmill and cycle that, err, “cycle” surrounded by people that are way older than me and in way better shape. And that’s okay! No, it’s even better. I’m having fun!
Who knew what a thrill it can be to walk that treadmill while listening to Radiohead. I love it.
In three months we’ll see if i made any improvements, at least my weight is perfect.
If only Conny could see me. She would have found this really funny.

Right on man. I wish I could get myself to do that. Although my joints probably wouldn’t tolerate the impact of the treadmill, swimming did wonders for me a couple years ago when i lost 40 pounds. I just can’t get out of the rut I’m in.
Capital of Russia? Shit man. Time to go googling. Oh, wait! I remember it now! Mooooo!
I wish I could do more for fitness! If i walk any more then a couple hundred meters (I did that for you, Dolf!) my back starts to get numb and it starts radiating down into my legs and up into my chest. After a kilometer or two I am pretty numb from my man boobies on down to my feet and it is just an awkward struggle to toss one foot in front of the other.
Best of luck to you in your quest for better fitness!!
I’m such a lucky bastard, with a body that is still able to do a bit of excersize. I will keep that in mind when i’m sweating in the gym this afternoon. Thanks for reminding me guys!
