Here is a nice experiment you can do during this video:

Step 1: close your eyes for a about ten seconds
Step 2: put your fingers in your ears and open your eyes

Aaaarggh!

Weird huh? That what progrock in the eighties was to me. Plain weird. There was some excellent music at the time, but both the clothes and the manners on stage i could never stomach. It is weird when a front man mimics both Frank Zappa and Freddy Mercury at the same time and if a guitarist finds time to do squats while playing a solo, he is not giving his best.

But even if you don’t like the genre, it is impossible not to appreciate the technical abilities of this band. I love the sonic dance of the keyboard and guitar in the end. As long as i keep my eyes closed.
