Time

This weekend the clock was turned an hour back in the Netherlands. Wintertime. I love wintertime, since you get an hour extra in the weekend. Another cool thing is that turning the clock an hour back is making the mornings a little brighter and the evenings a little darker. Of course i hate it when things are reversed back into summertime.

Wintertime / Summertime was introduced to us by the nazi’s, who also thought we should set our watches to Berlin. After they left, we kept it that way.

But that might change. Dutch and German scientists examined how this fiddling with time affects people. It turns out that it screws up their biological clocks.

If we are going to stop switching from summertime to wintertime, when would be best time to do it? I’m for sticking to wintertime, but there are people who prefer summertime.

Referendum anyone?

Some lobby or the other paid off the admin here in the US to stretch DST out. A month earlier in the spring a week later in fall. I’m actually looking forward to the fall back hour. As you said, I get some sunshine in the morning. As of right now, the sun doesn’t hit the horizon til 7:30am. I hate waking up in the dark.
This is the test year of the DST stretching. I’ll bet they keep it this way.
