Crazy!

Coloured bicycles!
Bicycle lights powered by dynamo’s!
Bicycles with small wheels!
People riding their bikes while wearing formal clothes and no helmet!

All of that and more here.

That was awesome! If that would have been a US city, the outrage that would have followed from the lack of helmets and good god, talking on a cell phone while riding a bike, may have actually gotten more air time with the new stations than Paris Hilton! Haha…

Definitely a very different biking culture. I see people talking on cell phones on bikes all the time, and the helmet wearers are about 50%. I own one but never wear it, I can’t stand it.

People in the Netherlands ride a lot slower than we do here. Most people riding bikes are in Nashville, are in it for the sport not the transport.

Also, since there are so many more cyclists, car drivers aren’t either completely freaked out by their presence or totally oblivious like they so often are over here.

We could learn a thing or twelve from the Dutch. Like not to be in such a hurry.

The number of bikes outside the train stations is staggering.

    Very cool stuff.
