Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende visited today the Dutch soldiers in Uruzgan, Afghanistan. The soldiers are there to keep the peace and even do some reconstruction. After Srebrenica you would think that the Dutch know by now that you can’t keep the peace in the middle of a war and that reconstruction is something you do after and not during a war.
But Jan Peter seems to be in high spirits on this picture, surrounded by a lot of manly men.
I’m not sure what he is doing, but i think he is giving the guys a tip on how to enjoy their free time in a way that is fun and gratis.
